The Girl Who was on Fire

Hello my darling readers!
On this very very fine morning I bring to you the merging of 2 incredible stories.
The Hunger Games (seen the movie? The next one, Catching Fire - I'm going to be in it.... Or maybe the third.... Long story short - my name will be known world wide!) and my very first performance on stage!

And the answer to your questions on how those stories can merge is simple:

As soon as I stepped on stage to perform my monologue I immediately wasn't nervous, having to much fun to be! Near the end I was so sad that it was over, but I get to do it again tonight!
At the end of the show everyone told me how well I did, that I was on fire - that the actress inside of me had taken over as soon as I set my pink painted toes on stage.

It's the most amazing feeling for me, to be on stage. And to have someone tell you that you were the girl who was on fire makes you feel so confident about yourself! See the connection yet?

Anyway before I go, I want to thank my readers for reading along on my journey to the stage and my family for supporting my dreams and- (well, you can hear the rest when I hit the Oscars!)

Calipso

P.S. One thing to remember in the industry (whether you're singing, dancing, acting or whatever) is to be confident not cocky. Being confident with your abilities but not knowing you're going to do great (all great actors and actresses still practice, practice, practice!) Don't know that you'll do good, and expect the best because when (if) it doesn't come and your confident in your abilities you'll work through it and feel even better in the end!

Totally Random Post

I'm not even going to tell you why I titled this post what I did, because as you already know, practically ever post is random and..... So...... Totally Random Post seemed to fit the bill....

Anywho, I love to make people laugh, laughter is the best medicine and seeing someone laugh just gives me that fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach. So my mission today is to make you laugh.

Teenage Post Thrusday

Hey Readers,
As I have already said on the RFS I am so sorry for not posting more often, I have been insanely busy with my upcoming show and just haven't had any inspiration, but rest assured, I'm back with a new addition to the blog!

I'm calling it (hence this post title) Teenage Post Thursday. A little while ago, I brought up this thing called Teenage Post awhile ago and I thought I bring it back. Now, I have no idea who started this, but whoever did thank you so much! These things are genius and scary true.

So every Thursday I'll post one, no copyright intended, just pure enjoyment. To kick off the official first post here's one of my favs:

Ok, don't know about you, but I can barely look at my friends without thinking that so.....

Rockwood Fashion Studio of Expression

Bonjour readers,

I am happy to say that as of today I will be starting a week Fashion post to help launch my fashion design career. I don't know if I will have an official day but every week I'll post something about fashion and design. What better way to kick it off then with a Fashion 101!

1) Be yourself in fashion - fashion is an art of expression so don't be afraid to show the real you! (When you can, don't go against your school's dress code or anything)

2) Don't be afraid to be different, that's what fashion is all about. Even though there are a bunch of trends in the world, there's a difference between just following them and adding your own twist to them ;)

3) It doesn't take alot to express yourself! Even with a plain t-shirt and fabric markers you can have something that screams you!

Those are my top 3 fashion tips for now!

In other fashion design news, Rockwood Fashion Studio of Expression has a blog in the works - and when I say in the works, I mean it. Hopefully I should finish it today but I can't make any promises.

Now, I'm off, into the world of fashion!

Rockwood Fashion Studio Team (pretty much just me, Callie, but you get the idea)

P.S. Wish moi luck on learning how to stick her hands until they bleed!

Fashionesta Today, Fashion Designer (and still Fashionesta) Tomorrow!

Hey readers.

Sorry I haven't really been on top of posting lately, just haven't been feeling it... It's the time wear it's really rainy but yet the weather is so nice you just want to be outside doing anything - so that's exactly what I'm doing! Although along with the rainy thing, I'm not at an extravagent park or anything, nope, I'm in my GARAGE in a winter coat in March (and before any of you say that March is still winter to moi it isn't!) !!!!
Anyway, you're prob wondering about the title of this post, so I'll get on with it.
Today I discovered a new way to tae my fashion design career to new heights -all in the comfort of my own home (garage)!
It's called Polyvore - http://www.polyvore.com/ !
It's a super cool website where you get this blank "canvas" on your ipad or laptop or whatever and you search up clothing to kind of make a collage, it's gives you great ideas for future outfits and is a total boredom buster (take it from someone who's been doing that non-stop for the past 2:30 hours) :)
It totally gives you inpsiration and I love it!

Love,

Rockwood Fashion Studio (like moi's design name?)

My Life is Average

Hey readers,

On this late (lol more like very early evening) post I bring something that had me clutching my stomach in laufter -which I usually don't typically do- My Life is Average.
This website is made up of thousands if little things that happen in a so-not-average-life.
I was reading the website and found this (and couldn't stop laughing btw):

"Today a couple of Twilight Freaks got into discussion about Team Edward Vs. Team Jacob (Team Jacob all the way btw) My teacher got annoyed and said: 'I'm still Team Shove Bella off a Cliff!"

*content sigh*...... too good ;)

And until something like the above happens to me,
My Life is Average,

Book Review: The Gallagher Girls

Howdy, darlings,

Today I bring you another book review, this time with a book from one of my very favorite authors: Ally Carter. The author of Uncommon Criminals and Heist Society happens to have another series, just as good.
It's called the Gallagher Girls.
So far it has four books (the fifth coming in March!) about Cammie Morgan and her friends. This book is very good and has you hooked on the very first page. It makes the Gallagher Academy -a school for spies- totally up there on my list of boarding schools I want to go to (the only other on my list being Hogwarts)!

The first book: I'd Tell You I Love You but then I'd Have to Kill You is amazing!
Although it's kinda slow in the beginning it is totally worth the read:)
This book is YA meaning the ages 12 and up, and I'd have to say I sorta agree with that but maybe 11 and up is better, so pretty much what I'm saying is read with slight caution;)

Bye-bye from the Bookworm,

Calipso

Valentine's Day: Past, Present and Future

Hello all my star-struck (and non-struck) readers <3

As you all probably know, tomorrow is Valentine's Day, the holiday that everyone seems to be talking about!
I mean, yes it's a holiday, a holiday about love, but Valentine's Day today is just not what it was like in the past.

In the past, it was a holiday about love, love for your family, friends and the special people in your life.

And right now, in the present, the holiday is about who's with who, what you got, where you went and is very commercialised.

I don't know about the future but here's hoping the future resembles the past more then present.

Have a great Valentine's Day, no matter who you're with or where you go <3

Even Bloggers get the Blues...

Yes, darlings, the title is SO true...
I haven't found much inspiration lately, and today it started SNOWING again (I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up after ONE day of nice weather) and so for the sake of preventing my avid readers from having the blues, I'm posting.
Although now that I think about it I realize that reading a post about the BLUES could very well give you the BLUES:(

Here's to a hopefully good weekend:)

Mom, can we move to Nashville?

Howdy, darlings!
I'm sure you've all heard this song, Love Story by Taylor Swift.
Now this post is kinda out dated since Love Story came out a few years ago but just now am I hopping on the Country Music Train.
At my rehearsal two weeks ago we listened to our closing number, This One's for the Girls by Martina McBride and I'll admit, I've been singing that song ever since.
And when you grow up listening to Dolly Parton with your mom, it's kinda in your blood.
So it only makes sense that I would "discover" Taylor now.
Anyway, if my acting career doesn't take off the way I want it to, I can always become a country music singer, you know... if I can sing.....

Do re mi fa so la ti do,

-Calipso Swift.... it works doesn't it?

Writer's Block and British Accents...

Konichewa, my early morning readers:)
This wonderful February morning, I bring with moi, a problem:(
When the cast and I take to the stage, I am to write a monologue and perform it ON stage!!!!!:)!!!!!:)
But that's not the problem, the problem is that I am writing a monologue for Floss, from CANDYFLOSS!!!
Now Floss is British so she uses some words that we typically don't use.... In which case I have a little writer's block.
And secondly, Floss is BRITISH, I'm NOT.... Say hello to learning a British accent (should be fun, but challenging) :)
For all you writers who have writer's block take some advice from some of the best authors: just write!

101 at Random

OK, dear readers, time for confession.
My Sunday 101 "thing" has not really been going too well....
*breathes sigh of relief* what? you think I should just do 101 at random?
Wonderful idea darlings!!!!
So today, I figured in honor of another rehearsal and to prep all young actors my 101 will be on the stage!

1) Memorize your stage directions! -stage left, stage down left- I would explain them to you but moi is still have a little trouble memorizing them herself....

2) Always warm up! My wonderful drama teacher always makes us warm up before we start acting, it gets your creative juices flowing and gives you tons of energy!

3) Take bold leaps! Don't hide in your shell, let the world know the real you!

4) Try new things! Don't be afraid to make midtakes mistakes! Actually moi is currently working on a British accent.... time to watch the Harry Potters again!

Well, that all I have for today besides one more piece of CRUICIAL advice: Follow your dreams!!!

Let's end this post with my all-time 2 favorite qoutes!

- Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are foot prints on the moon:) -unknown

and

- The key in life is to fall 7 times but to get back up 8:) - Paulo Coelho, author of The Alchemist

101

Today is a wonderful day, darlings!
I checked the blog today and found 101 page views!
And what better way to celebrate that then with some 101?
So from now on, every month (or week) I'll have a different topic to do on 101, that day can be Sunday:)
A day of relaxing and preparing for the week ahead:)
I'll be spending the weekend with friends so until Sunday my dear readers!

-Cal

P.S. Sat. is my first rehearsal, wish moi luck:)

In like a Lamb and out like a Lion

Ever heard that saying, darlings?
This winter has started out beautifully, but that usually means that it won't end to nice...
That is....Unless you live in Hawaii:)
Oh well....It's a dream:)

Lalaland

Don't you think some days are just....well.....blah?  i personally think so. You know the kind? No inspiration. No friends to talk to. Just in general blah. But I think there is a way to push through these clouded days. The answer is...................Dream. Act, dance, sing, write, draw, paint, WHATEVER makes you happy. We all have a passion, we just gotta find it. My friend (who I'm filling in for) auditioned for a play, she loves acting. And guess what? She got the part. I had an inspiration, at 11:00pm. I followed it, and now I have the tune to my first song. We all dream. We just don't now it. Or we chose to ignore those dreams. This post is just random, but true.
Dream. Follow. Laugh. Live.
Moonlight.

A Thousand Beginnings....No Endings.....

Hi, fans.
Tonight I thought I'd take the time to compare a struggling author like I, with some of my favourite authors.
For one, I happen to have the beginnnings to a thousand stories...but no endings.... While my fav authors such as J.K. Rowling and J. Wilson have thousands of finished stories:)
So, my late New Years Resolution is to finnish those stories!!
Have a good weekened, my avid readers!

Breaking the Ice

Alas, dear readers, today was my very good friend's birthday and since we're only two days apart we decided to have a joint-party. A SKATING party.
Fun.... We had alot of fun...
But it was pretty cold and considering we kept falling on the ice, crawling on the pavement-only to get some very wet knees- and using those little red and green push-chair-thingys.
And all bundled up we probably didn't look to great either....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear friend!!!
Love your frozen friend and blogger,

Author Spotlight

Aloha, my fans.
Today I'm going to tell you about an amazing author who's books you will total get sucked into!
Her name is Jacqueline Wilson.
She is a British author who has written over 90 books, including the international best seller: Candyfloss (which I'm currently reading) and one of my faves: Little Darlings.
Jacqueline is truly amazing and has won numerous awards like the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, the Children's Book of the Year award and the Smarties Prize and that's some of them.
Though you can read these books at a young age, they are so amazing it doesn't matter how old you are.
Please try one of her books and spread the word;) This author is truly worthy to be in the same category as J.K. Rowling, and so many of my other favourite authors.
Visit her website at www.jacquelinewilsonrocks.com!

The New Years Blues:(

Buenos Dias, dear readers, *sigh*....
I know 2012 will bring many new, wonderful things but so far I haven't inspiration to post *gasp*!
With the holidays having come and gone and not having to look forward too... unless your like going to Paris for March Break or something... but alas, I'm not:(
But even through all the blues, I am super excited about an audition I have next week, and it just so happens to be the week of my birthday, so why am I so down?
It seems wrong and impossible that I could be.
So I did the only thing you can possibly do: surround yourself with friends... and a shopping spree:)
So for the weekend I will be hanging with Lights and my other super-fab friends.
Thanks for reading this very blue post and have a super weekend, Darlings!
