A KIndle from my Kin:)

Hey yall,
This year for Christmas I got a Kindle e-reader from my grandparents and it's really quite a neat little thing. For one the books are very cheap.
Two if you don't know if you'll like a book before you buy it you can try a sample which usually gives you   about a chapter or more to read.
Three at my library there is a program that teaches you how to use it and download books.
This is a really cool gift and is perfect for people like me and Lights how can't live without books!!!!

A Boring Day

Today's Boxing Day and it's kinda a boring day, I mean Christmas is over and every one's tired. You have another week before you take down your decorations and your kinda overwhelmed by what happened over the weekend. But if you celebrate Kwanzaa then your celebrations have just begun and Boxing Day doesn't have to be so boring. Relax with your family and be happy. My family and I are going to brunch with family today, for example. Hope you have/had a great holiday:)

Merry Christmas!

Happy holidays, dear readers! It is I, blogging to you from my new Playbook. But even though we all got some dazzling gifts today, please remember the REAL reason we celebrate Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful week, whether you've just finished celebrating Hanuka (sorry for the spelling errors) or are celebrating Kwanzaa tomorrow, whatever your doing. Happy holidays:) Calipso

Merry Christmas....Eve!

Happy almost Birthday, Jesus!
I thought that today, in spirit of Christmas Eve I would refresh my memory of the Christmas story.
It all started when Mary and Joseph were engaged (keeping in mind they were only in their early teens!!!!). One day, an  angel came to Mary and told her she was going to have a baby and she was to name it Jesus. He was going to be the king of kings and would turn the world around, save us all. Now when Mary heard this she was shocked but knew she had no choice. Later, another angel came to Joseph to tell him the good news, but Joseph didn't think it was so great, he didn't want to marry Mary (lol) if she was going to have a baby. He didn't understand what a miracle God would perform. But the angel spoke to Joseph and told him he was to look after Mary and Jesus, Joseph understood and agreed.
A little while later, Mary and Joe we're traveling, Mary was about to give birth and when they went to check into an inn there we no rooms available and Mary and Joe were forced to sleep in the little manger by the inn. The manger was run down and the floor was hard and covered in straw. Plus, there was animals surrounding them.
In a field some shepherds were tending to their sheep when the angels appeared to them, they told them that a miracle had been performed and that Jesus, the king of kings was born. The angels told the shepherds to follow the star up in the sky and that would lead them to Jesus, Mary and Joesph.
When the shepherds arrived, so did the three kings, who brought gifts for Jesus.

I think this is how the Christmas carol Away in a Manger was created... And that is how God sent his son to save us. This just goes to show you how big miracles can happen in little ways.

Happy Holidays!

'Twas the Day before the Day before Christmas Eve...

Yes, darlings!
Only 2 days away!
I can barely wait!
Christmas has always been my favourite holiday, (even before my birthday which is right after x-mas!) everyone is so happy and it's the time of giving. But of coarse we can't forget it was the day Christ was born:)
Even though the big day is only 2 days away, I still haven't finished my Christmas gifts!
But since the malls are packed and you can spend like 2 hours circling the parking lot for a space, I figured I'd spare you the trouble and tell you about some gifts that don't involve you and your parents in a crowded, stuffy store.
1) Scrapbooks! I am very creative so I love things like these, and everyone loves gifts money can't buy: homemade thing! It only takes some photos a book and lots of imagination!
2) A movie day! Take a shoe box, pop a DVD into it, some popcorn, candy and ta-daa! You can even print out some old-fashioned tickets off the computer.
3) Blankets. This gift will involve going to a craft store to get some fabric, but it's totally worth it! And since you're not buying the blanket already made chances are the store won't be too packed. Buy some fabric, cut it into squares (sometimes fabric stores will do that for you!) and sew together. My mom made me a blanket but cutting ruffles into all the squares and then tying them together and I love it to pieces!
4) Coupons! Not the typical coupons! Take some paper and write down a bunch of things like Free Hugs! Free Diner! Things like that, and then when your mom or dad or whoever cashes the coupons in, you do what it says! But don't worry, your siblings can help you with that! It's a really fun thing to do and whoever you give them to you will love them!

Well that's all for now!
Hopefully you'll have your shopping almost done and you won't become overwhelmed with the miracle that is Christmas!

Time for Science!

Well, my avid readers, I think today's post's title say it all: time for some science.
Now it's true, science is not my favourite subject but when I found out about this fact I just had to share it with you!
Did you know, it's a scientific fact that I you have a song stuck in your head (which happens to me wayyyy to many times a day) if you hear someone singing a different song that song gets stuck in your head?
I guess since you're focusing on that song the other one leaves your head.
Just don't hold me to my word, though, I'm no scientist.
I happen to have a song stuck in my head and I....BREAKING NEWS!!!!
It actually worked! *jumps up in delight* After to listening to different song then the one I have correction: had stuck in my head, I got that song stuck in my head.
TIP: When finding a different song to play, pick one you like!
Well, just thought I share this fact with you!

So Random!

Aloha, dear readers.
Just a few random things I realised:

1.Coco Beach doesn't have coco flavoured sand!
2.Dancing the Salsa,is nothing like eating it!
3.When water-skiing,you're not going down a hill! (You don't even go down a waterfall???)
Yeah, just some random things, I happened to think of....

Auditioning;)

And Lights.... Camera..... ACTION!!! My dear fans!
Ah, yes, it is true. I am auditioning for a production!
The audition will be in the New Year, and I am very pumped!
Hopefully all will go well.
Or terribly.... But I'm NOT thinking about that.
At least, as my dear friend Lights puts it: the day of the audition is a good omen. Ah, yes, the day of the audition if right before my birthday!
Hopefully Lights is right!
I'll post more about the audition after I find out about the part!

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

Deck the halls, my dear readers!
I thought that since there are only 6 days until Christmas I would take the time to give you my take on some of my favourite Christmas carols. Carols are one of my favourite things about Christmas because everyone is singing, the world is a sheet of music. Singing carols is the chance for people who can't sing to join in on the festivities, people like moi.
Now, without further ado, Deck the Halls!
1) What does Deck the Halls exactly mean? Moi doesn't have a clue! When I think of "deck the halls" I think of our deck in the backyard and the hallway... probably not the real meaning.
2) Fa-la-la-la? I don't think it has a meaning but it sure is fun to sing!
3) Tis the season to be jolly? Couldn't have said it better!
4)While I tell a Yuletide carol? When I think of "yuletide" I think of the fireplace channel on tv, where it has Christmas music playing.
That's all for now! Maybe in the next few days I find the meaning of Deck the Halls... Or I'll move onto the 12 Days of Christmas.... I mean "12 Pipers Piping?" Someone having a party? "9 ladies dancing?" "10 Lords a Leaping???"

Book Review!

Bonjour!
Today I bring with me not only some snow (isn't there something in the middle between TO much snow and TO little?) but a book review!
This amazing book is called Tomorrow Girls: Behind the Gates, by Eva Gray.
There a 4 books in the series, but I just happened to have stumbled upon them now, looking for a read on this cold December day.
I have so far only read the first chapter, so I will post a finished book review hopefully in a few days, but I can tell already that this book will be good!
Here is the summary:
In a terrifying future world, four girls must depend on each other if they want to survive.

Louisa is nervous about being sent away to a boarding school -- but she’s excited, too. And she has her best friend, Maddie, to keep her company. The girls have to pretend to be twin sisters, which Louisa thinks just adds to the adventure!

Country Manor School isn’t all excitement, though. Louisa isn’t sure how she feels about her new roommates: athletic but snobby Rosie and everything’s-a-conspiracy Evelyn. Even Maddie seems different away from home, quiet and worried all the time.

Still, Louisa loves CMS -- the survival skills classes, the fresh air. She doesn’t even miss not having a TV, or the internet, or any contact with home. It’s for their own safety, after all.
I don't think this summary is anything compared to when you read the book, the book is so very well written and I don't believe this summary is doing the book any justice.
So please take my word for it and read Tomorrow Girls!
As for a suggested age, I will post on the finished review but I think so far (and don't hold me to my word;) but I would say around 11 or 12 and up.

Your CMS roomate,
Callie

Doom and Gloom

Hiya, my fans.
As you may have noticed today my post is about doom and gloom. A very rainy day was aparently in order and now Mother Nature has had her way.
But, at least I don't look doom and gloom!
From my dear friend, Lights this idea comes to you:
Paint your nails, dear Lights painted mine and they are most not doomy and gloomy.
So why don't you be inspired and paint something!
Whether it's a nail or a canvase, all up to you.
Ttfn,

*SCREAM*

Quick my fans! Drop what you're doing (not literally) and listen to this!
I have just heard of the most fantabulous idea in the history of ideas!
                                         Drumroll please......
A BOOK SWAP!!! *Imaginary audience claps insanely*
Now, as you know, I <3 reading and am always looking for good books! So when I heard of a book swap I imediatly wanted to have one with my friends!
In a book swap you get together with your friends and you all bring at least 3 books to start, they ca books you've read and liked or books you haven't read but thought someone else might like.
Then, you all answer questions like:
"What is your fav type of book?" (Action, Romance, Comedy, Horror, Mystery, Fantasy ect. ect.)
"What the last book you read?"
"Do you like long books or short ones?"
"Series or singular?"
"Fiction or Non-Fiction?"
And when you're done you match up the books to youe buddys so example:
If I had  who loved action, books in series and fantasy I would reccomend Harry Potter to her!

I cant wait to plan a book swap!

Sadly I could not find a virtual zebra pet gadget! So sad.....

Hola! (Again!)

Hola my fans!
OK, prior to my first post I have a simply scrumptious book review for you! *squeals*
Now, to get on with this!
This book is called Heist Society by Ally Carter.
It is a great book, summary:
A girl named Katarina (Kat) Bishop has a family of thieves, but she doesn't want to be one, she's walked away from the family business... That is until she has to steal paintings from the most famous museum in the world, to get them back to their rightful owner and clear he dad's name from the crime he didn't commit!

This book is sooo good, I couldn't put it down once I picked it up!
But it is a YA book (Young Adult) so I would have to say you shouldn't read this until your 12, maybe 11.
In the Heist Society series, there are two books (but hopefully more coming! *winks at Ally Carter*)!

Well, that's all for now!

-Calipso
